In a letter on its website, Walmart's U.S. Chief Operating Officer Dacona Smith said the change "will help ensure associates are able to stock the products our customers are looking for and to perform cleaning and sanitizing." Walmart, which has more than 5,000 locations in the U.S., said its employees will continue to work the hours and shifts they are scheduled, and product shipments will still be delivered on regular schedules.
